My 2000 MPV minivan doesn't have top tether anchors in the 3rd row. We bought and had installed the 2nd row tt anchors retrofit kit from the dealer. These kits went into holes in the floor that were pre-drilled at the factory. There is no dealter retrofit kit for the 3rd row.
My husband's 2003 MPV came with a tt anchor in 3rd row (and ones for the 2nd row).
My question is, since there is no pre-drilled spot in my 2000 MPV's 3rd row, is it possible and/or advisable to have an aftermarket tether mount installed? This is the only one I was able to find online:

I've talked to two different dealer repair/parts departments, and they are clueless to what I'm talking about. My mechanic works on and installs anchors and harnesses for race cars, and he says he can install them if I'd like. He says that he installs anchors to hold the weight of a grown man, and they'll surely hold the weight of a car seat, but I don't want my dd to be a crash test dummy and won't do it if the techs here advise against it.
What do you think? Thank you!
