RF w/HUGS and Harness Q/Observation

I don't have any Britax convertibles, but I have noticed that the harness lays a little funny, right below the HUGS. It almost looks like the harness needs to be tightened. I know they are optional when RFing. If you use them RFing, does this bother you and if so, why do you keep them on?

I only (relatively) recently starting using my Marathon and Boulevard without the HUGS rear-facing. The fit with the HUGS never bothered me, and I just never was inclined to take them off. I guess I am lazy.

After I wound up ordering new harnesses for my seats (1 for the Marathon because it was fraying; 1 for the Boulevard because the buckle was acting up), I didn't feel like transfering the HUGS to the new harnesses. I do like the fit better without the HUGS, but it was one of those things where I didn't realize I liked it better without the HUGS until I wasn't using them any more. :)

the britax harness just sort of works that way - as long as it is tight enough at the shoulders and across the hips, it it okay to seem "loose" on the belly. I took the HUGS off w/ my ydd because it didn't seem to be tight enough for her, but I left them on when my ODD had it - was plenty tight for her (different body types completely, so that's probably why).

I have taken them off the MA. My dd has a fairly short torso. I find it easier to also get her in and out with them off rfing. I will likely keep them off until she moves up to the next slot. And that it seems will be a long time from now.
