I really want the 45 lb. rear facing Radian XT (realize it hasnt officially been announced) but am wondering...how do you ensure the DOM?

I have emailed a few co's and have gotten replies that they can not ensure a DOM.

advice?

I would wait until October or Nov to buy one. That way you would have a better chance of getting a new one.

No need to fret over the date of manufacture.

Since it's not retroactive, f they advertise the seat as going to 45 lbs RF, it'll have a DOM of Sept 09 or later. If they advertise it as having a 40-lb RF limit, it'll be an older DOM.

Yeah, just wait for all kinds of official information that it's to 45. Remember how they sold seats that are good to 35 but still put 33lb stickers on them. Craziness, lol. (and Safestops with 48 pound labels only meant to be used to 40...more Craziness... )

If I get one my plan was to wait until the new covers come out and order one with a new cover, assuming there was one I wanted. I figured a new cover would be one of the new ones. If someone orders a tech one I'm sure they can write on there that they want one that goes to 45 lbs.
