My 8 yr old son is dx with Autism. I have been searching for months for a 5 point harness seat that will accomodate him. (he was an escapee) We have a Regent but he won't be in that long due to his size. Regular military insurance (tricare) denied a special seat. We are enrolled in tricare ECHO and it covers things like ABA. I have now gotten a Roosevelt carseat approved thru tricare ECHO. His worker said he will be the first child they have ever approved a carseat for because of Autism. When I spoke to his worker last week she said I must be getting word out b/c they have another family putting a request thru. So IF your child is escaping their seat, which is of course a safety risk for them, you and others on the road if you are reaching around to keep him in the seat this might be your answer!! Enroll in tricare ECHO immediately, have your ped write a letter of medical necessity and you might get a seat that will work for years!
