Safety 1st Uptown not just at Big Lots!

Maybe everybody else already knows this and I just missed it? But I just read that the Safety 1st Uptown is now available at Walmart ($99) and I did a google search and found that you can buy it through Amazon too. Also, I read recently that someone bought one from Big Lots with a 2009 DOM (rather than the 2008 DOM usually discussed here) for $65. So I guess it wasn't replaced by the Avenue after all?

Just thought I'd share in case I'm not the only one who missed it.

Maybe they finally realized the error of their ways by stopping carrying it? Only thing that I'd like to see is if the bottom hasn't been 'cutout' like they did on the Avenue, it makes it a lot harder to stuff enough noodles under it to get a good newborn recline.

Cool find! :)

I'd love to know this too. The Avenue looks like it could eat a whole pool noodle pyramid for lunch and not be even a smidge more reclined. I haven't tried to install mine yet though...

If I had to guess, they had more covers than they had shells and are finishing up making them w/ those. I just looked at a seat at Big Lots and it had a DOM of May 09 and expired in 2013 according to the stamp on the seat.

That is odd! A

Our uptown is well loved. Its cushy, not too bad to install and I got it for 40 some odd bucks on clearance.

I need to go check our walmart again.

Apparently the Uptown is only available online, but you could order it online and have it shipped to the store and then shipping is free and presumably you could check out the DOM and expiration date before you buy.

No, you have to buy it and pay for it before it ships to the store, but then you could return it. I liked our Uptowns, got them for $22. They had to be replaced w/ Avenues after our crash last summer though.
