ANOTHER broken PW

I had this happen to the first Parkway I bought. The headrest won't stay up when pulled up. It falls back down to the body of the seat. When it happened the first time (around 2 yrs ago) I called Britax and they sent me another seat. I'm going to call them Monday, but I wonder what they'll do this time since it's a discontinued seat.

This is really frustrating and makes me wonder about the other PWs I have. Is this going to happen to them too? How many of you have had this happen w/your PWs?

The thing is, it happened on one of our spare PWs. We hardly ever use it. Most of the time it just sits in the garage. DD1 was going somewhere w/DH in his car yesterday and when I put the PW in, the headrest wouldn't stay in position. Luckily I have a spare PW for DS too, so we used his.

I think it happens to just about 50% of peoples PWs. I know ours does it. If you do a search you will find a lot of peoples do it as well.

It happened today to mine. I flipped it over and looked at how the thing was designed to slide up & down. Turns out the handle at the top wasn't fully un-compressing + the plastic side hooks weren't engaged. Used a key to push t hem out on the sides. Played with the top handle. Everything works normally again.

It's plastic. Reminds me of buckle clips that have to be spread out on my Ergo waistbelt on occasion. :shrug-shoulders:

I'll have to try that before I call Britax tomorrow. I'll see if I can get it working again. It's just so frustrating! You'd think that a booster from Britax wouldn't have this crap happen. I'd expect it from some of the cheaper brands, but not from Britax.

I pray mine don't break. I don't think my kids would fit in my van w/o my pw's. Now to convince dd1's torso to not grow until dd2 hits 35#s:D
