Latch limit 2010 Chevy Equinox

Does anyone know what the weight limit is for the LATCH system in a 2010 Chevy Equinox?

The LATCH limit is 48 lbs in GM vehicles.

Pretty much all domestic vehicles (by OEM, not domestic content or final assembly plant) is 48 pounds and all imports is 40 pounds.

Does that include the child AND the car seat, or just the child's weight?

The LATCH limits refer to the child's weight only.

I don't think all imports have a 40 pound weight limit specified for LATCH.

I can think of just as many imports that say to follow the child restraint instructions as those who have used 40 as their limit. I can also think of other imports that have 39, 48, or even 60 as LATCH limits.

that's correct. to say domestic = 48 and import = 40 is an inaccurate oversimplification. The ones that actually state 40 lbs as a limit are in the minority. A much larger percentage defer to the child restraint manufacturer.

Every domestic is 48 pounds. Honda is a large minority US OEM with 40 pounds LATCH limits. Sorry for my oversimplification.

Weight is of the child only.
