Question 2008 or 2009 Boulevard

This may have already been asked. I'm just about to order a new car seat for my daughter. I really like the Britax Boulevard. I was planning on getting the Madison one from Albeebaby.com fro $219.99. Well now the have the Meghan one from last year so it is a 2008 model for $189.99. What one would you get? From what I have read the difference is the RF weight of 33 to 35 and the headwings. Should I pay the extra $30.00 or not? Part of me thinks that by the time my daughter weighs 33lbs there will be a seat that RF to 45lbs. lol I do want to RF as long as I can! Ok sorry for the rambling. Any opinions would be great!

Also I would want to have a professional install my seat. I live in Western Mass how do I go about finding a CPST?

Thanks so much!

Hello and welcome!:)

I have both the old and new the BVs. I'd buy the Madison because: 1) I like the cover better; 2) the cover is rare & will have better resale; 3) the seat is newer and will have a longer lifespan; 4) I like the look better of the new wings; and 5) for the extra 2lbs rf.:)

Here is a link to find techs:

The 33 pound limit is only on seats through mid February 2008, so most of 2008 had a 35 pound limit. The new headwings I don't think most parents have a huge care about.

As long as you don't expect to use the seat for the full six years, having a year of life gone may not bother you. If you're planning on passing it down then you need to ask if you're ok with it, and if the value is good enough to make it worth while.

Also, a professional should never install your seat for you. They should teach YOU how to install your seat. If they install it and you drive away without doing it yourself then they aren't good technicians, if they're technicians at all. When I do a check I install the seat to make sure it'll work in that position with the angle I want, then teach the parent how to do it properly (because it may take me three tries to get the angle right, or to move it in a different position, and they only need to know how to do it properly where it works best for them). They leave having installed the seat themselves (the exception being women in their ninth month of pregnancy. Their bellies get in the way).
