Turbobooster Screws...grrr!

I posted a few months ago about trying to get my sister to buy a HWH for her granddaughters. She finally went with a Turbobooster, which although not ideal is certainly better than her using the Cosco HHB harnessed with a
41lbs child or using as a booster.

When she got it she was concerned that the back was not solid, that it would recline very easily. I told her I was pretty sure that was how it was supposed to be and got that confirmed here.

I read the manual and let her know that as long as she followed it to a T, Abigail would be safe riding in it.

Fast forward to 3 or so months later...

All of a sudden last week I thought..."Make sure she put the screws it"

I called and she didn't answer so I left a message about it.

Later DH and I were out and we were near her house so decided to stop by, wasn't even thinking about the TB at that time.

She opened her door and said "What, crazy car seat woman?" I then remembered about the screws and asked about them. She said no they were not in. Asked her well what did you do with them. She said she and my nephew and his girlfriend talked about them at the time and agreed that I would yell at her if they were not in. So she said she told them she would just put them away until I did! DH put them in for her on the spot and I did my best to get through to her that they really do need to be there!

Yikes!

Wow, I hope this person is never in charge of your children. She sounds like she would injure them out of spite.

I sure hope not! She is baby sitting tomorrow so DH can take me out for my BDay.

She just thinks I am over the top with car seats and laughs at me.

Wait, so she intentionally didn't put them in, waiting for you to notice??

Great.

Exactly!!! She knew there were supposed to be there, but I am guessing not understanding how important they are, so yes, with the plan to wait until I realized it and fixed it for her. When I had trouble getting them started and passed it off to DH, she said see, that was my problem. Fine, then you could have called and asked. She had even brought it over to show me a day or two after she bought it, so that would have been a fine time to ask me/dh to put the screws in....you know, before the kiddo rode in it!
