Question Convertible Seat Recommendations for RAV4

I'm researching convertible car seats that would fit into a 1997 Toyota RAV4. Our current Graco SnugRide barely fits in the back seat. The problem is that the front seats have to sit farther forward in order for the SnugRide to be angled correctly, leaving less leg room for the front seat passenger.

I would like to keep my 12-month-old rear-facing as long as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations for a convertible car seat that would fit comfortably rear-facing into an older model RAV4 without causing the front-seat passengers to be cramped?

Right, it would help to know how big your baby is first...weight and length :)

How is the baby fitting in the Snugride? How much hard shell above their head?

I'd definitely try for something with lockoffs if possible; I HATE that car for rear-facing installs with LATCH and seatbelt. I know not everyone shares my sentiments but I have had ROTTEN luck in it!

Baby stats

She hasn't been to the doctor in a few months, but I imagine that she is about 19 lbs. and 28-29 inches tall. Her snug ride is good until 22 lbs. or 29 in. tall.
