I'll probably be telling a lot of people at BRU about it... $128 is a lot lower than $180, esp if people are buying a second seat for grandma and fainting at the prices at BRU, lol. Plus, it does make a pretty good booster, keeps the lapbelt lower than the Nautilus on a fair number of kids :)

does it make a good booster? i remember a couple of years ago the apex was all the craze around this forum (maybe because it was one of the cheap HWH alternatives?), and we got one for MIL's car because of all the hype. not bad, save for those sharp knives they call "feet", and fairly plush. we ended up CLing it. it felt cheap.

but it seems that after a short love affair with the apex, no one here mentions it anymore. i thought it was discontinued!

Yeah, it's surprisingly un-bad as a booster, though a bit wide and might be harder to buckle.. http://carseatblog.com/?p=1606 our BRU shipped ours off to BigLots (really, that's too bad, people think the GN and FR are over-the-moon expensive...), and albee's been carrying them all along. I'd LOVE to have these again, because the next step down at my store are the Cosco HBB, Summit, Evenflo Chase and Generations, and kids in this town run heavy and need a HWH, and all those make gut crushing boosters :(
