I called Britax

I called them about the MA harness and about the Decathon not adjusting. lovinwaves had spoken to them on the 19th about sending a new harness for mine (she was calling them about her covers, so she asked about my harness too). They said it would be here in 3-5 days...I called and she said it was being sent out today! Good thing I have extra seats...geez!

And about the Decathlon, she gave me the whole "If he's rear-facing it's going to be harder...what you need to do is make small tugs..." bla bla bla...I said, "That doesn't do anything...it doesn't move at all. Even if I bring the seat in the house and pull it down at a different angle, it won't move if he's buckled into it".

So she is supposed to send a UPS shipping label for me to send it to them so they can check it. If they end up sending me a new DC, I'm just going to sell it on Ebay...and I'll probably just do the same if they send this one back and say that's how it's supposed to be (it's been used maybe 10 times and I still have the box). Then I'll use that money to get a Marathon and then come tax time, get 2 more Marathons, like I planned anyway.

Okay, just wanted to let you all know what they said!

All in all that's great news- at least you don't have to pay to send the DC back to them. My DC is a breeze to adjust-FF with DD in the seat. I have never used it RF, though because we bought it when she was 3 yrs old and 34lbs. I personally like the DC better because of the crotch depth- it is about an inch more and for my big kid that does make a big difference.

Don't sell the new one (that you may or may not get) short yet. They might send you one of the "good" ones that is super easy to use.
I hope it gets resolved!

I just brought the DC in the house to try it out again, just to be sure it doesn't adjust when pulled at a different angle and it doesn't. It'll do that one long tug and then once it stops, it's done...no more adjusting (same as it does rear-facing). That leaves the harness too loose and there's no way to tighten it without unbuckling it, which makes it difficult to get buckled again.

If they send me this one back to me and say there's nothing wrong with it, I will most definitely sell it. If they send me a new one, I'll try it out first and see if it does any better. If it doesn't, to Ebay it goes!

I can handle difficult to tighten. I know any rear-facing seat isn't going to be super easy to adjust and that's fine, but this one is literally impossible in and out of the car and at every angle possible.

Hopefully they'll replace it with a better one!

Oh yeah, YoshiandLuke, it's still under warranty...just manufactured 9/26/06, so it's only a few months old. I guess that's why they are paying for the shipping. I agree that's really good of them. I am just peeved about the MA harness not being here...not even being sent out yet! I can't stand using anything without a rear-facing tether now, so it's driving me nuts!
