I've learned so much from all of you and I've been passing on information to friends and the mom's in my Mommy's Group. Many of the mom's have said they will rearface as long as they can. I'll be excited if they get to two.

One of the mom's posted that she had just turned her 16 month old because he was 30 lbs. I sent her the info about rear facing until at least age 2 and how it was so much safer and told her I wanted to make sure she had the information to make an informed decision.

She wrote me back saying because he's in a Britax Blvd she felt he would be just as safe forward facing.

I totally didn't believe you guys when there was a thread a few months back about Britax and all the things people thought because it was a Britax.

Oh well, I tried. My son rides in a Blvd too and because of all of you will be riding rearfacing for a long time to come.

There's not so much a Britax bubble, but I'll give her a Boulevard bubble. Most of the safety increase in RF is in side impacts, not frontal, so her kid has a leg up on the side impacts at least.

I thought front facing benefits were huge as well, due to neck strain and internal decapitation.

I did a check for a moms' group, and confiscated a garage-sale Britax. I had it on the ground while I was filling out paperwork for a replacement seat, and all the moms were clustered around it like it was an injured child, questioning how a Britax could be a "bad" seat.

DH is in the Britax Bubble too. He wants to get DS a MA to replace his Diplomat to keep him RF longer. I keep mentioning the TFP but he is like "But I like Britax".

My nieighbor toddler rides in a very expired Roundabout, because "Britax is Best." They could at least buy him a NEW Britax.

Oh man! I am probably one of "those people" you all are talking about!

I know not to use an expired car seat though :)

When I first had my son (2003) I went to a specialty store to look at seats and saw Britax. At that time that is pretty much all they had. I am STILL in the Britax bubble ... I think. It is SO hard to chose carseats! I know I will be buying a new seat in a year for my daughter and who knows what I will get!?!? Britax, Radian....
