Ok, I was wrong, I was working with a '99 (right Doriansmummy?) and a 2000 (Whataboutpuppy). In the 2000, I ended up with Start, RF radian, Frontier. It barely fit, but if you had a Radian there instead, it should be fine. Here is a pick, before the switch.

What year is your Outback?

Some of the more recent models (2005 on?) have a hump in the center of the back seat that make installing a radian nearly impossible. At least I've never been able to get a radian installed tightly there in my 2006 BUT I think I saw it done in the 3 across thread. When I tried I wasn't aware that it was okay to twist the buckle stalk three times, so doing that may make it possible.

I can tell you that I've successfully installed these combinations in my 2006 Outback:

• Outboard: Radian FF, LATCH OR belt-- Center: Roundabout, RF, belt -- Outboard: Safeguard GO, LATCH (This combination was rock solid)
• Outboard: Radian FF, LATCH or belt -- Center: Marathon FF, belt -- Outboard: Safeguard GO LATCH (This combination was really tough and it wasn't as solid as I'd have liked)

Radians puzzle REALLY well with Britaxes, IME, and I'm positive I could've gotten a second radian in the other outboard position instead of the Safeguard GO. Installing the Radian with a seatbelt instead of LATCH makes it possible to move it closer to the door, giving you an inch or so of precious space!
