Any info on a '93 VW Eurovan?

Is it safe? Any or how many tethers? Can it be retrofitted? Other safety or ease of use or driving concerns? Thanks

NHTSA's frontal crash test results for the '93 Eurovan are at http://www.safercar.gov/portal/site...toid=c95df2905bf54110VgnVCM1000002fd17898RCRD The driver's 1-star frontal crash rating is rather alarming.

:twocents: It wasn't tested by NHTSA for side impacts and doesn't seem to have been crash tested by IIHS.

On the tether anchor front, the LATCH manual indicates the '92-'99 Eurovans with the triple bench and folding rear seat, and also the multi-van model, have 3 tether anchor points for the third row center and third row outboard seating positions. VW tether anchor kits usually involve several pieces with different part numbers, not a single kit packaged together, and it's good to double check with a VW dealership about the current numbers as they may change. Here are the numbers listed in the 2009 LATCH manual for the '93 Eurovan:

Anchor Plate: 703 858 773
Washer: N011 525 27
Anchor Belt: 445 887 267B
Rivets: N016 199 2 (2 required)
Bolt: N989 108 01
