Tara,
I am going to try to make your Jello Poke cake, but I have a question...?
Does it have to be a two-layer round cake or would it work in a 9x13 rectangular cake pan?
Have you ever made it that way?
(We need one of my round cake pans for something else.)
I suppose I could run to the store for another, but I was just wondering if the 9x13 would work?

It should work just fine. I substite 11x9 pans for round ones all the time, and just have a single-layer sheetcake rather than a round layer cake - mainly becaues I don't own any round pans. lol

Oh sure...you could use other pans. Just be careful when unmolding, as those bigger pans can at times be trickier ;)

But yeah, it should be doable.

I just always use my 2 rounds because I love the look of layered cakes (and love doing them :) )

If you do use another pan...will you let me know how it worked out? So I can post it as a little side note on my recipe blog?

Tara - I ended up using the round pans.
The cake turned out GREAT - everyone loved it!
Katie-Noel had requested a "Dora" cake, so we added a few decorations....

(I love her name, too! :) She was actually going to be Sarah Michelle, but when she was born on Christmas Eve, we thought that she needed somthing more special! Katie means 'pure' ...and so her name means "Pure Christmas".)

I have a "grace", "son of my right hand", "God is my strength" and "Jehovah is God" (I forgot one, I know, brain lapse LOL) I just love names with meaning, Biblical meaning.

I agree.
My boys are David ("Beloved") Cameron (crooked nose" lol) and Gregory ("Watchful One") Michael ("who is like God?").

Joyjoy's name (Rhiannon-Joy) is Welsh and means "Great Queen of Joy"; her middle name (Anjelita) is Spanish and means "Messenger of God."
