Horrible user images of Snugrides

My SIL is due in February with her first. Her shower is January 7. So of course I trudge of to TRU to get the carseat she wanted. Snugride Windsor, not the travel system. :) They don't have it, but if I want to go to BRU (three days before Christmas, 25 minutes away) they probably do. So I didn't get it today.

I looked online, though, to see what the Windsor pattern is so I'll know it when I see it, if it isn't obvious. On amazon's site they have pictures of it, as well as user pictures. Those user pictures are scary!!!!!!!!!! I don't think any of them have the kid in properly.

This one is my favorite, so far.

Yay hubby!

The only thing that one is doing right is not using an aftermarket head positioner. That's the only nice thing I can say about that one.... Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the child is in the house on the floor snoozing away.

The only thing I can say is...wow...I don't think I seen a single 1 of those babies buckled correctly! One looked close to being right, but I couldn't tell for sure from the angle.

ACCCCCCKKKK! My DH and I are looking at these with our jaws hanging open! And then I decided to start looking at Britax seats! *shudder* Besides loose straps, there are so many chest clips nowhere NEAR the chest - are they now belly button clips? And little bitties that appear to be FF'ing.

Don't buy that Snugride; this one has major problems with the handle sticking to the point of being nearly impossible to move. My sister has one and many of the reviews describe the same handle problem hers has.

The first baby in the bunny outfit was at least tightened and had the clip and the right spot. And I don't get bent out of shape over thin harness covers like the little kid in the roundabout. Parents are going to do it, it's highly unlikely that anything bad will ever come of it, I just don't worry about it. I just gave a friend of mine Charlie's harness covers off his BV to use on their Roundabout, so I'm just as guilty. However I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that nothing bad will happen due to it, so I don't feel bad.

Why this one pattern and not others? Just curious. She's not signed up for a travel system or a carrier for the seat, so I think she's planning on doing what the other Thomas gals did and sling the baby, so once the seat is in it may be in (and as she's full term a week after the shower, guess who's going to volunteer to get it in. I don't know how much I'd trust her to get it right and my BIL is legally blind). I will get a receipt for her, though, and tell her of the problem you mentioned so she can exchange it if she wants. Depends I guess how often she's going to want to move it out.

From what I could see, a few (two-three?) of the kids looked okay.

It is hard to see anything in the photo of the twins on the double snap n go. You can't see how those kids are harnessed. But a few of the others look okay or pretty close to okay. Others are TERRIBLE!

This one looks fine to me. Am I missing something?

This one doesn't look TOO bad. It chest clip needs to be pushed up a tiny bit and the harness tightened a little bit, but this isn't too bad compared to the others! :)

I can't tell anything about this one. It might be okay.

This one is also hard to see anything. But it looks like it might be okay.

Here is another one where the harness needs to be tightened a little bit and the chest clip moved up a little bit, but it isn't too bad compared to the others. :)

*I just saw, when I went back to look at the links I set, that the harness straps are above the babies' shoulders in most of those pictures. Sorry, I just saw that.*

I don't know if any other covers are affected by the sticky handle problem, but my sister has this problem and several of the reviews specific to this cover mention the problem as well. My Snugride has a handle that's easily twice as nice as the standard one (unfortunately, it's an older 20lb/26" limit one).

If I were buying a Snugride, I would purchase one of the Quatro Tour Systems available only at Babies R Us that include the Snugrides with nicer handles. I can't figure out why Graco doesn't put this handle on the higher end Snugrides that can be purchased individually; it's so much nicer. You can sell the stroller (retails for $130-$150) if you don't want it.

I had problems with my snugride handle sticking and graco replaced the seat (not the cover) 4 times! My handle was very tight at the begining and eventually just wouldn't move after ds was 2 weeks old. I sent it back to Graco and they sent a new shell (I had to use the old seat cover & canopy every time). They did say that they found a problem with the seat.

I would just test the handle out in the store to make sure it isn't sticking there! Mine was stiff right from the start, so if you try it at the store and there isn't any problems then I think it will be okay.

My concern wasn't as much the covers but how high the harness is!! Doesn't that look high even if that little bitty is FF'ing?

The 3rd and last ones, the straps are way above the shoulder height.

Ok, so this thread got me thinking about pix of my DD in her SnugRide. OH MY:eek: Ok, just remember this is pre-finding this forum. I don't think I did *that* bad. I just needed to tighten the harness a bit. what do you guys think?

I don't think it looks too bad (I mean especially compared to all the others pics we're seeing, lol)!
