GRRRRR....MR fraying...I think.

Man, I looked at the adjuster on my MR yesterday & it is starting to show signs of fraying. Not good. I am in Florida right now & 9 hours from ANY spare seats. SOOOO......Does everyone think the MR will be ok till I get home? I think it will as it is not really bad yet. However since it has only been in use for a little over a week now, I see it getting worse.

So.....I will be calling Graco when I return home. I am going to hope to get a Barlett cover if they offer to replace it. How long has it been taking for people to get their replacement seats??

I too am betting it is fine. And this is coming from someone who did return one for that reason. I noticed mine when I had been using it for 2 weeks. It was not anything that worried me about using it then, but I was concerned about how it was going to hold up with years of use and returned it. I opted for a refund, so I don't know the turn around time for a new seat. I am thinking you got the spiral, am I right? That is the one I had. Our Walmart just got the Edgemont Dots and it seems to be a better made seat. Don't know about the adjuster strap of course, but the cover is much better!

I too opted for the refund, it came about a week after sending the seat back. I then went to Target and bought the Bartlett. (which I returned a few days later).

My old SS1 did this, I returned it and the new one I got did the same thing. I realized it was normal then and it was not a problem since it was below the adjuster anyways. My tan harness on my new SS1 has no fraying/fuzzing at all. My theory was this happens on the black harnesses and not the tan. What color do you have?

I am still waiting on my refund, only cause I just got back from vaca and need to ship it back still... I plan to get bartlett with the refund because I played with the bartlett at target and the strap does not feel at all like it would fray, unlike the chandlers I had.. not sure though, I do sometimes go back and forth on this desision, like should I bother and just get a radian 65 (out of budget) or a nautilus? And give that to Fiona? augh.

OK sorry for that ramble, I must be loosing it, I think that your my ride is safe still... as long as you can't loosen the straps by just pulling on them, it is fine and still holding.. I think it takes a lot of fraying to really make it dangerous.. a lot lot.

Watch out for Bartlett too - I have one (since 7/31), and the adjuster strap is fuzzy-wuzzy.

hmmm thanks for letting me know.. I might just have to get a radian 65 instead again (I have had radians, they suck to install with out a hand from hubs, but I want the 40 lb rfing limit for Nolan)
