Question recommendation for small 5.5 year old

Hi ! I am looking for a recommendation for my daughter.

She is 5 1/2 and is too tall for her Britax Marathon carseat. We have a Honda Odyssey van. She is 42 1/2 inches tall and weighs 39 pounds.

We do have a Graco Nautilus in our Honda CRV but she only has about 1 1/2 inches until her shoulders will be too high for the 5 point harness.

What do you all recommend? Safety comes first for us.

1.5" can take a while to grow in the torso at this age. AJ turned 6 in May and has about an inch left in his GN too. He'll move to a booster once we get his Oobr in Feb. I'm o.k. w/ that for him then. Evan is almost 5 and not quite 35#, but he's short too which'll help us keep him harnesses longer. He's a ball of energy and will need a harness longer, lol.

I agree, the 1.5 inches can take a while to grow. It's torso growth, so it's slower than overall growth

I would guess she may have another year in the harness (maybe more, maybe less). I think the only harness with higher slots is the Regent.

So you would recommend getting another nautilus for our second car vs a different high back booster?

I'd definitely get another Nautilus. It took my daughter well over two years to get 1.5" of torso growth. And the Nautilus fits petite kids very well. I prefer it for my daughter over the Britax Frontier, which is the other highly recommended combination seat (a high back booster doesn't use a harness, fyi, a combination seat has a harness that's removed later).
