Chevy Prism, locking latchplates?

Does anyone know if the Chevy Prism's seatbelts have locking latchplates? A friend of mine is going to be installing a rear-facing seat in hers today and wanted to see if anyone knew in case she doesn't!

I'll just ask her to be sure. I don't think she'll know what I'm talking about...do you have any suggestions on telling her how to check to see?

I was going to tell her to buckle the seatbelt and then try to pull the lap belt out and if it does NOT pull out, it locks, and if it DOES pull out, it doesn't lock. Is that okay?
