Re: Really Sad Accident

This is SO sad! I bet you that the kids could have survived had they been restrained properly. I wish more people would realize what kind of danger they're putting their children in when they put them in the car unproperly restrained, or not restrained at all.

The other thread linked to is in Senior Chat which not everyone has access to. I'm not sure why it was put there.

News articles that are not directly related to child passenger safety, particularly if they involve sensational and/or upsetting topics like the death of children, belong only in senior chat. Even a news article about a car crash isn't specifically related to CPS simply because children died.

Essentially, there's nothing educational about this news article - we all know that unrestrained children and adults are at much greater risk of death in a crash.

this thread also deserves a big red WARNING: CHILD DEATH MENTIONED.

seriously, who wants to hear about this stuff?

EDIT: oh, and someone else already started a thread on this earlier: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=93996

maybe the two threads should be merged, and in general caution should be exercised as to not post duplicate threads.

Thank you, SPB, for your attention to this thread. As has been stated in previous discussions about controversial/banned topics, it does indeed take time for the volunteer mods to find such issues, determine the best course of action, and then act on that decision. I'm sure all of the members understand that there will sometimes be a delay in such matters.

It is also worth pointing out that due to the fact that the "duplicate" thread is in the SCM, not all posters are able to see it and would be unaware that a thread by the same topic already exists.
