OT: Christmas Gifts

My family celebrated Christmas on Saturday.

[Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of my nieces in their Christmas dresses! They're ages 7, 4, 3, 3, and 1. Each had a black or black and red dress, white tights and black shoes - too cute! ;) ]

The funny was my fault. :p I needed boxes to wrap gifts and used "pull up" boxes from a friend for the two oldest girls. Inside each box were several smaller wrapped gifts {Most of the fun is in the opening, right? And for me, in the wrapping.}

The oldest sat and pouted until I got her to actually OPEN the box and see the gifts (which she liked) were inside. The four year old had parked in my lap for the event. She too sat and pouted for a minute when she saw the box. She then turned to me and said, :mad: "This is the WORST Christmas present I ever got!" Once she actually opened the box, she was thrilled and played with her "My Little Pony" set (not MY 1st choice, but I caved to the commercialism when I didn't come up with something else) for the rest of the evening and today (and yes, she was going to play with them in the car on the way home, too - if her brothers didn't torture them first).

Call me cruel, but it was really funny to see they thought I'd actually given them Pull Ups for Christmas (I'm such a wrapping queen, I never thought they'd pay any attention to the BOX!!).

Too cute!

That is pretty funny that they thought you were going to give them Pull-Ups for Christmas! :)

My family celebrated Christmas today. We did it early too!

Reminds me of my first christmas on my own. I unwrap the tidy little box and call out across the room to my mother, "Oh wow, how'd you know I needed an iron?" She told me to open it, it was undies.

lol! Reminds me of what we did to my brother. I got this toddler pillow and wrapped it in fabric like a pillow case and put it in this huge cardboard box with a lot of newspaper as packing, wrapped it up nicely with a bow and all. In the very bottom under all the paper I placed a video game. I gave it to him while apologizing that I didnt have many funds this christmas and such, so it wasnt anything huge. I have never really given material gifts at christmas so it was no suprise that I didnt get him something 'real'. He opened it and was like 'oh thanks :/' then I told him I needed him to empty out the box so I could use it again and when he did the game fell out and he burst out laughing, and so did we. He liked my gift after that ;) lol!
