Traveling to a resort

Hi,

We have been invited to a wedding at an all-inclusive in Mexico in May. Most of my family is going, and I think it would be nice for us to go as well. our baby will be 6 months and our DD 3.5.

The only hold back (other than DH's lack of desire to go ), is the carseat issue.

For those of you who have traveled to resorts, etc, what did you do about carseats? We have been to Jamaica before and were mostly on shuttle buses and vans that weren't carseat friendly.

It makes me nervous, but I know that lots of people who take young children on these types of vacations...

The resorts that we've gone to have sent Towncars or SUVs to come and get us, and we needed a carseat on the airplane anyway, so I just used them on the plane, in the Towncar, then stored them in our hotel room until the return trip. Even if you're on a shuttle you need the carseats for the plane anyway.

IMO the "carseat issue" is never an issue for a plane. It's a requirement, and boy has it not stopped us from enjoying travel. :) It becomes something that happens in the background, like making sure you have enough diapers. It's just something you do with a kid, and when you think back on it years later you don't remember the diaper or carseat, just how much fun you had.

Have a great time!

I didn't realize you could arrange transportation for carseats...good to know! I would bring the carseats on the plane no matter what...I was just worried about once we were there. I will check into that! Thanks so much!! :)

Those were just the cars the resort sent for everyone who requested airport pickup. We didn't do anything special for them, but it wasn't out of the ordinary to get a car, or to see other cars waiting for other passengers, rather than vans or shuttles.
