Which Britax to get- Marathon or Boulevard????

I currently have a Britax Marathon and am looking to get a seat for our second car... I am a Britax fan so I'd like to get another. Is the Boulevard worth the extra $$$$? We will happily get it, but what has it got that the Marathon doesn't?

Well they are both great seats! My DD has a Boulevard and I love the true side impact protection and the no re-thread harness adjuster.

Is there a reason you only want Britax? There are a lot of options out there now that can get you more use for less money :)

I just feel safer with her in a Britax... that's all :) Call it good marketing, or good word of mouth testimonies...

What would you recommend if not a Britax?

Sunshine Kids Radians-made of re-inforced steel instead of plastic. Eight year expiration vs six years. Taller harness slots and taller shell = longer time RF (Rear Facing) and FF (Foward Facing). Yes, they do have come with their installation issues, but if you let us know what car(s) it will be in we can most likey tell you if it will work or not. RFs to 40lbs now instead of 35lbs also FFs to 65lbs with top harness slots approx 18" in all models. Can be teathered RFing as well.

First Years True Fit-RFs to 35lbs, taller shell and taller harness slots, FFs to 65lbs. New version has an ARB (Anti-Rebound Bar) which has improved some of the harness adjuster issues some were having. Seven year expiration on it vs six years.

Evenflo Triumph Advance-RFs to 35lbs, FFs to 50lbs, harness slots comparable to True Fit (Approx 17"), knob adjusters instead of pull-adjust. Infinite harness system-no rethreading (True Fit also has this feature).

Graco My Ride-RFs to 40lbs, FFs to 65lbs. Fairly new seat but a lot of mom's around here have them, so they can offer their personal experince with them. The shell is comparable to the Britax convertibles but how it is shaped it offers for more RF time. My son fell in  with it at Target the other day. He had outgrown it though due to his long torso (haven't measured recently, but I know he has grown) and still wanted to bring it home with us.

These are in no particular order, just remeber children tend to outgrow ALL seats in height before weight, so something with taller harness slots is always a good thing.

:yeahthat:

While I do own a Britax & do like it, I also own 2 other seats that are not Britax that I feel really safe with my son in them. Yes Britax has some good features, but other seats are coming out with them as well now to. All seats on the market ARE SAFE! The safest seat is the seat that fits your child, your budget & that is installed & used properly EVERYTIME!

I would have to say that my most favorite seat that I own right now is actually my Evenflo Triumph Advance. I just LOVE that seat. If you're in the market for a new seat, then I would suggest going to somewhere like BRU & playing with the above mentioned seats. Target carries the Evenflo Triumph Advance, MyRide & the TrueFit all in store. So if you do not have a BRU near you then I would go there!

What car do you have? There are great seats out there, but not all work with everyone's car/seat combo.

I prefer the Blvd over the Marathon myself. More for the headwings than the no rethread harness, altho I appreciate both.

How old is your dd, and what's her weight? Is she rear facing or forward facing?

While Britax is nice, there are other seats with taller shells and top harness slots that offer more growing room and more rear facing leg room. I would probably choose a Radian XT, a True Fit Premier or a Complete Air if I were getting a convertible seat.

I personally like the Radian alot if it is a good install in your car. It rear faces to 40 lbs now. It's got a nice high shell and harness slots. It's steel reinforced and expires in 8 years. I like the low profile and the look of it - your car doesn't look like it's full of gigantic car seats! And that's my :twocents: worth!

Thanks for all the advice! I will look into all these seats before purchasing one.

For all who asked, my daughter is 25lbs, 32" tall and we have a BMW 5 series.

Thank you!
