Nanny next door came to me today with carseat issues. Baby just turned 5 months. He's in a Britax infant seat (the older one, I always get the 2 names confused). When I initially helped her with installing the seat, the level line on the base almost looked over reclined. No way to make the seat less reclined. She was telling me how his head keeps fallinmg forward I'm going to try and work with her this afternoon (if our schedules mesh well, otherwise it'll be next week) to make sure the seat is properly reclined (and I'll have her park on our piece of driveway where it's flat). I showed her before how to properly tighten the harness, so I'm sure she's doing that (but I'll double check of course).
But what seems odd to me is, his head will fall, and go back up, and fall, and back up again. I told her I'm very confused because a properly reclined carseat should allow the head to stay back.
When I showed her harness tightness, he was doing the 'baby curl', where he's trying to sit himself up as we're trying to lay him down to buckle him. An instructor told me that's usually a good indicator that they can have the seat more upright. So I wonder.... does his head look like it's flopping because he's trying to sit more upright? BabyS doesn't do this, but she's a chunker and her chin looks like it's touching her chest just how she normally sits
