Washing straps (maybe a slightly different than usual question)

I brought home a filthy nasty garage-sale Marathon (because a nearly-expired garage sale Britax is so much better than a new Avenue) from this morning's check. I brought it home because I'm going to be teaching a class at my church and I want to use it in demonstrations, since I don't currently own a convertible. No child will ever ride in it. Is there any reason I shouldn't throw the straps in the washer?

not a tech but I don't see why not... just in case maybe write on them that they are washed.

I don't see why not! I'd just write on the straps as well as the shell that it's for training only.

Plus, if the washer does any damage to the straps, you have a perfect visual example of why you aren't supposed to do that. ;)

I don't see why not as long as the seat will never be used. I am not a tech however. I also plan on completely washing my old snugride, straps & all, & using it for a play seat when I have another.

Thanks. These are *nasty* and I really don't have the patience or desire to gently sponge them with plain water.
