best place to buy an infant life jacket?

We were just invited to the lake for majority of next week since it's been so hot (I'm reading 100 degrees in the shade at the moment) and Odin does not have a life jacket. He

the water, so I don't want to run any risks. He's not mine so no swim lessons or anything.

He's roughly 26 lbs and 32 inches tall.

I found one at my local big 5 (I'll check it out after O gets up from nap) but they said it's to 50 lbs. I have a hard time believing my barely 26 would fit well in that.

Any ideas?

I've seen nice infant ones at Target.

I'll check that out. The one they had at big 5 was 30-50 lbs and was much too big. Thanks!!!

Was this the one you saw at Big5? Child's Stearns Boating Vest

My older son did not fit well in it when he was 2.

Nope it was a body glove one, but the chest was way to big for him. We're going to take Codi's advice and go check target, I called and they have lots in stock for kiddos under 30lbs. It won't last til next year, but it will do the job for this summer.

Just going to make a suggestion - I found when my kids were under 1, they liked the "V" style life jackets way better then the bulky square shapped ones. Here's an example - they still have the head cushion, but it's fabric on their back, and it comes down in a "V" so there's more room for them to be able to sit and stand properly.

except blue. It is a little bulky and he walks funny in it, but I think it's ok. He's 18 months and has been walking since 9 months regularly, so I think it'll be alright. He liked modelling it around the house that's for sure.

Go to a sporting goods store. We got an actual stearns infant one for my two and they fit great.
