issues with my KF30

So I'm finding that many times when I tighten the straps, one straps seems looser than the other! I try loosening, making even, then tightening, but it still happens. I've also checked under to see if the harness is having issues in the back, but nothing.

Also thinking I need to take the insert out. I just bought a 2nd cover on here (the Extreme) and I'm noticing the insert is slipping around underneath her. Anybody else ever have that problem. I didn't notice it with my Adventure set - maybe cause the Extreme one is smoother fabric? Just weird.

Have you tried pulling the harness ALLL the way out, as loose as it goes, then clip the chest clip closed and pull it even.

Also, check the whole path of the harness to make sure nothing is twisted.

I don't know anything about hte insert tho - sorry.

Haven't pulled it ALL the way out, but really loose. I'll try that. I'm wondering if she's sitting lopsided or something. Maybe taking the insert out will help.

If kiddo is at eleven pounds and you still have the infant insert in, it is probably the cause of what you are describing. My sister had her LO in a KF, and the same thing was happening. She didn't realize she had hit 11lbs already, but taking it out corrected the problem.

I really doubt she's 11 lbs. She was 9.13 lbs at the post office last Thurs! Yeah, she's a little peanut! :p

ETA: just check fit without the insert. Awful! I could put my whole hand between her and the buckle area! And then it made the buckle too high on her and looked like the top was pushing into her tummy. I put the insert back in and put her in making sure that it stayed straight and looks like they are even this time. So I think the insert stays for now.

And YES, I took pics! I'll upload and post in a few.

Not the KF30, but I am having this issue w/my SS1. The straps are separate and no, they aren't hung up on anything, I've pulled them all the way loose, etc. Still the one side is looser than the other. I'm wondering if it's just slightly *longer* than the other one? It's kind of driving me batty, and I haven't been able to figure out why it's like that. It's not enough to be dangerous, just enough to make me bonkers :p.

Before I scrolled down far enough to see your siggy on your post with the newest pics, I thought 'Squee! I see a new siggy pic in the future,' and there it was, lol. :D Adorable.

I had this same problem with my kf (22). It turns out my DD was just sitting more to one side. When I moved her toward the looser strap and then re-tightened, it solved the problem! HTH!

As others have said, I've also had this happen when he is off-center. Loosen, then scooch the baby butt towards the loose side and retighten and it should be taken care of. :)

Took me a few times to figure out what the heck was going on with the seat!

i don't have much to offer about the keyfit but i had to comment. I rememeber you saying that this little cutie is the one that always screams while in her car-seat. She is too adorable to scream.
