I got my Britax Parkway Slideguard (Updated with Pics)

We haven't used it yet but I did sit DS in it. He seems to like it. The only thing that seems like it might be difficult is the armrests on it don't move and there is not a big gap between them and seats. This makes it kind of difficult to get the belt done up and tucked under the armrests. I can do it but I don't know if he could do it on his own.

FTR: YDS is normally harnessed but I can't get the Nautilus installed properly (another story) and we are moving to Australia in a week so I am putting him in a booster until we get there. He is 5, 46 inches and 53 lbs.

I was afraid of that with the armrests. That's what made it possible for my kids to buckle themselves in was that the old ones don't have them. I should have ordered another of the old style before Albee baby ran out. :(

I will post pictures later. DH has the van right now. As soon as he gets home I will.
Before that though, is there anything I need to know about posting pictures on here? I don't think I've done it before.

Oh, and yeah I don't know why they couldn't have made the armrests at least go up and down....maybe they will catch on with the next model.

Upload them to a free photo hosting site (like Photobucket), then post the image codes here. No limit that way. :) Just be sure to re-size them (in Photobucket) to a reasonable size first.

The booster looks like a good fit, though. :)

Nice! The lap belt is a bit higher than I'd normally like to see, but my guess is that with the slide-guard, the risk of abdominal injury is pretty minimal. Looks really good! This will be in the running when Bean the First moves from the Nautilus to booster in 18 months or so.

I agree the lap belt seems too high, but also agree that the clip should decrease the chance of abd injuries.

Shoulder belt placement

I was so hoping I would like it once I saw IRL photos of it, but I still think it looks like a glorified Turbobooster :duck: I am sure others just  it but for us we like the "beefyness" of our SK Monterey.

Ok, let me try this. This should be a picture of the seat. The crotch buckle can be tightened. I wonder if this would make the lap belt sit lower.

Hmm, the very top edge of the lap belt might be touching the lower portion of his tummy, but I honestly think it's a good lapbelt fit. 99% of that belt is laying flat across his lap, as it should. :twocents:

I still think it looks much more sturdy than a TurboBooster. The wings may be a little more open than the old-style Parkway, but they still look much deeper than the TB.

I'm so glad everyone likes the fit. It makes me feel a lot better about having him in it. He thinks it's really comfortable too so that's a plus.

Thank you for the pictures! I have the old Parkway but have been considering this new one for Ds#2 for when he starts to use a booster (I like the idea of the slideguard for him). I think it looks like a good fit belt wise but am wondering about the width. I have tried Ds#2 in our current Parkway and he says he feels squished (he is a solid kid) so I was hoping there would be some more shoulder room in this new one.

Also I think the armrests are kind of silly...they are so short! It would have been great if they had made them longer and given them the ability to be folded up for ease of buckling.
