Yikes! We have a bunch of these. I wish they had pictures to go along with the various recalled UPC codes! Has anyone found a site with pictures??

I looked and looked and no luck on pictures. I hope someone can find some. UPCs don't do me any good. I have one that I know is NUBY with gel, so need to figure out what to do with it, but I also have one that I have no idea what brand it is and it doesn't say anything on it.

I am so tired of having stuff in the recall list every week!

They need pictures because there are no UPC codes on the products. Those are gone long ago. Should we start stashing upc codes in boxes around the house?

Just a general reminder to keep it G-rated and professional here in the public forums.

This recall is possibly listed with more details or photos on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website, cpsc.gov. :twocents:

Unfortunately this recall is coming from the FDA and not CPSC (http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm172689.htm). FDA doesn't like to include pictures. Even the Nuby website doesn't have any info on this recall. They have pictures of their teether products, but no UPC numbers to go along with them. It is really frustrating not knowing what these recalled teethers look like.

how is a three letter word, which is the name of an animal, and of which two letters were replaced with asterisks, anything other than G-rated?

It's sufficiently profane to have generated complaints, and asterisks left little to the imagination, 'nuf said. Let's keep the focus on identifying the recalled product, the purpose of this thread, shall we, and save the righteous indignation for the manufacturer who needs to provide clarification about the recalled product specifics. :twocents:

Thanks, MomToEliEm. I didn't realize this was an FDA recall and not CPSC. Both the FDA and the manufacturer definitely should be compelled to provide clarification.

Additionally, straight from the user guidelines:
Interpretation of our guidelines is at the discretion of the staff and not the member. Please consider that our moderators are volunteers. We are parents and safety advocates, just like most of our membership. Testing the limits and pushing the guidelines may seem like great fun, but it's a genuine hassle for the moderators who try to make sure everyone plays fairly, by the same guidelines. We simply don't have the time to police every thread. Generally, we react to reported posts and for that reason we encourage our members to use that feature if you see a post that you think is a violation of our community guidelines.
and
Everything in our public forums should be G-rated and appropriate for a family audience. Abbreviations, self censoring, and attempts to circumvent the word censoring feature of the community software (if enabled) also violate this guideline.

The context used made it pretty clear the intention of the word.

well, then, i guess i'll be spending a lot more time hitting the "report to moderator" button to help enforce these guidelines since they seem to be unevenly enforced

Go right ahead. We don't see every single thread, so if you see a thread which you believe goes against the user guidelines feel free to report it. We will review it and deal with it as appropriate.
