Marathon cover issues

I have one MA left, it expires in April or May of 2010 that DD2 is riding in. I was planning on switching her to one of our Regents when it expires so I want the full use of that MA. Only after 5 years of use the cover isn't staying on the back. Every single time she climbs in the seat, it falls down. It is only a pain since there are 3 DC to wrangle into seats! I hate fixing the cover every single time we get in the car. It is even worth calling Britax over since it is a 5 year old seat or should I just deal?

It sounds like the elastic is stretched out? I don't know if Britax allows it or not, but the elastic can be replaced. I bought an old MA cover with a replaced elastic from the swap page, but the elastic was way, way too tight. So, I replaced it by cutting a small slit in the channel that holds the 1/2" wide (or so) elastic cord, sewing a new length of elastic to the old one, pulling the old one out (while it threaded the new one into the channel since they were connected). Then, when the new elastic was entirely in the channel, I made sure that there was no twisting and that there was enough room to fit nicely on the MA (without being too tight or too loose), then I super sewed the ends together at 2 overlapping points. It was much easier than I thought it would be, and the cover looks great.

The elastic is supereasy to replace. I have done it several times. Also, inexpensive covers are always listed on swap and you may be able to replace for the $30-$40 range and then will have a spare for the other MAs
