I wouldn't...my almost five year old is in the atrocious third row of a minivan and trying to get a multitech or similar rearfacing back there would be extremely difficult.

I would, however, buy one each for my two and three and a half year olds and keep them rearfacing in it for as long as they fit in the second row

My big kids are both between 55 and 60 lbs. My almost 3 year old 40lb'er and my 4 year old 37lb'er would both be turned back around.

I would-Josef would be one un-happy camper if he knew he could RF! Josef is BEGGING me for a RF seat, but I will not import that is unless $500 magically appears on my front door step :p

Now if he were six already-then no but at *this* moment, yep!

If I had the money, and the shell was tall enough, sure. Not for a kid over 6 y/o ,though. But for a 3 and 4 year old? Yep. No problem with that :D .

My dd would have been too big for today's 33-35# RF seats at 2-2.5yo, and 40# RF seats at 3y4mo (95th+ percentile), and I would not truly be happy with that; however, 55# would have been 6.5yo for her, and she was in a highback booster at that point. I don't think I would have had her RF at 6yo, but at 3-4, definitely. 5 is kind of a gray area. I'd have her FF without qualms, but if she fit in a RF seat and wanted to be in one, I'd do it.

I wouldn't but that mostly has to do with how blaring hot it is in Texas right now. 100+ degrees almost every day. My poor DD is always sweating to death when I get her out of the car. Poor baby.

Laurette, what about switching to an Avenue? The Uptown is pretty plush, maybe the Avenue would be cooler.

I would have but my big kid is 56# at 5y 9m. She begged to go RF when I turned her sister back around at 2.

I wanted to get one for DD2 but it is over kill for her :(

I would. My 4.5 year old could probably even just barely squeeze into a My Ride right now but I won't buy one for such a short time of use. If I had a seat that RFd to 55, then you betcha!

My 25th percentile girl won't be 55 pounds until she's almost 9. At that point, she can legally be out of anything, so no, she won't be RFing. We have a 40 pound Radian and I expect I'll turn her before she's 40, too. When she enters Kindy, unless she expresses a strong desire to stay RFing, I'll turn her.

J has said he would love to go RF if the Radian went to 55 pounds. If I had the money, I would turn him RF if the seat fit in my van nicely. But more for the novelty of it than the fact that I thought it was soooo much safer for him.

It really depends on the type and price of seat... mostly the angle and comfort perspective. If it has the leg room of a MT or TWE (when it's installed upright) then absolutely. If it's affordable, awesome. But if it were, say, a TF that RFd to 55lbs, then I'd turn my DS waaaaaaaay before he reached that weight limit (but then, he's also tall, he won't be 40lbs until after 7yo so he could RF until puberty depending on height!)
