Is my carseat too old?

I have an infant car seat that is about 3 years old. It has not been used in about 2 years and has been sitting in my attic. My concern is that i may need to buy a new one because it may have deteriorated while sitting in the extreme heat and cold in the attic. Does anyone know how long you should keep a car seat that is not in use?

It's safe to use, assuming it has not be wrecked or mistreated. The expiration still applies (usually 6 years from the date of manufacture). The extreme heat and cold of the atic is probably less extreme than that of the car.
