I have to agree, I have a Parkway and a Vivo. Both have incredible SIP imo. Much better than my turbobooster and my cousin's Evenflo booster

I have a parkway and vivo and both have great head wings. The vivo's are even deeper than the parkway's, I think.

if i could interrupt, i see by your pic that you have quite a few boosters. i just posted a new thread reguarding my 11 year old 80 lb son who is quite short but turbo booster bottom not working well anymore. from your experience which booster gives the most room for their thighs. our armrests on our tb are interfereing with the belt due to him gaining a few lbs and im sure my stupid van stalks arent helping. thanks in advanced.
oh have u used or seen the evenflow big kid booster or clek. wanted to know the armrests look pretty high and they say the evenflow is adjustable in seat depth. the clek looks to be high as well. thanks in advance.

Maybe Darren can answer this one. Taking away the anti-submarine clip, is the SIP better/equal to the old Parkway?

Clek Olli or Combi Dakota or possibly even the Cosco High Rise/Ambassador are the best choices for big kids that I know of. I think the Evenflos are too shallow in the seat, but see if you can find one to try to be sure.

HEVY, Darren had a lot of pictures on his www.carseatblog.com PW SG review, the SIP looked comparable to the PW.

I think the Vivo has better SIP than the old parkway (not sure on the new one). They both have big headwings, but the PW's ar so narrow, my kids tend to lean forward out of them (and I've heard of other kids doing that too). The Vivo headwings are wider, being more comfortable. A can even put her head to the edge of them and see around them (yet still be completely contained in them). Not sure if I'll like the PWSG, I want to see it in person first. But the only current booster I'd get rid of the Vivo for is a Monterey.

The Monterey ;)

I just saw a Vivo in person for the first time a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how shallow the seating area is - that's enough of a reason for me to never buy one, after that I looked here for pictures of kids in Vivos and a lot of them the kids look like they are falling out of the seats, and good SIP or not, that's not something I'd want and could even be a safety risk.

What kind of safety risk? Submarining? I don't think that Al is "falling out" of his Vivo. :scratcheshead: Is he?

Really, the Vivo might have a short (measured) seat depth, but honestly, the shape of it makes it a non-issue for my kiddo, who did loudly complain about the shorter (and downward-sloping) seat of the Parkway. :twocents: Because the Vivo's seating area isn't downward-sloping, and because it sits so very low on the vehicle seat, in my experience, kiddos (even long-legged ones) find it comfortable.

momof3monkeys, how short is your 11yo? What setting is he using on the Turbo (how many clicks from the top)? If he still fits in a highback with room to grow, but is just too wide and long-legged for comfort in the Turbo, I'd consider a Graco AirBooster (wider in the hips and deeper in the seat than the Turbo) or a Sunshine Kids Monterey, along with the backless choices Julie mentioned. :)

ETA-I didn't like the Monarch when we tried it out, mostly because it seemed even more top-heavy than the Parkway (something we hated about it in my Focus; it was fine in the Windstar), and the were just a huge pain to deal with. Loved the SIP on it, but because it seemed very top-heavy, we hated the armrests, and the seating depth wasn't any better than the Parkway, we decided against it.

He looks fine, let me see if I can find a picture or two to show what I mean...

Ok, so in a quick look I couldn't find any picture here showing what I mean (I found very few older kids in Vivo pics), but this is a side view of the Vivo, and you can see how short the seat is.

Her feet can touch the floor though, right? so the floor is now supporting her legs.

I found a picture of Judi's DBK Tyler in the Vivo too, and his feet are on the floor.

For kids whos feet DON'T touch the floor, and their legs are long, it's just not a good fit IMO.
