I drive an escort wagon. My son rearfaces center of the rear seat. I'd really like to get some ideas on what I can do to secure cargo. My friend just lost a relative who was hit from behind by a suitcase during an accident and now I'm extra paranoid. They were driving home from thanksgiving.
I have three tether anchors across the roof. None are in use just yet. I also have vinyl roll thing to cover the cargo area, but I doubt it will hold anything down in a crash, it's litterally like a windowshade. It however has two plastic clips that click into holes to tether it in the event of a crash. What I'd give for anchors on the floor of the cargo area.
I'm driving down for xmas, so I'd really like to find a solution or get some ideas. I know I can use the areas directly behind the front seats, since they're pretty safe. When I buy groceries, I either put them there, or put them in the cargo area with the heaviest stuff right up against the back seat. Other than that, what can I do?
