Here is Lilly in a variety of infant seats. I posted some pics of her in the chaperone and decided to get more for comparison. I like to see how bigger babies fit in infant seats. She is 16#14 ounces and 27 1/2 inches long. I'll get a torso measurement soon. On all the seats she is on the highest harness setting, except the Safeseat, she has one more to go. I wish more seats had ARBs. I like her to more contained in seats so I lean more towards the ones that keep her within the shell on the sides. The chaperone and the keyfit were best at that.
First is the Chicco Keyfit 30
She didn't fit in this the other day, but she did today. I think I may have left the insert in the other day, but not today. She fit very nicely. I think she has about the same room to grow as the chaperone. This seat is narrow in the body and she didn't have much room to move her arms. She didn't complain much about it as she did with some of the other seats.
The Maxi-Cosi Mico
She had a good amount of room over her head. It's a little bit of a narrow seat, but not horrible. She was definitely not comfortable in it. And the puzzle buckle was awful to to do. Especially with her trying to climb out.
Graco Safeseat
BabyTrend Flex Loc
I was surprised how much room she had above her head in this. But she was way squished on the sides. She was not happy in the seat at all. I did like the no re-threading harness. For someone with small babies, this would be a nice seat.
And for fun, the Graco MyRide 65 in Sonata
I loved the MyRide for her. If I was in the market for her a new seat, I would be leaning strongly toward this seat. I really like something with rebound control, so that's one thing to make me hesitate. But she's pretty big for her age and seems to be following the same curve as my giant 4 year old, so this might be the perfect seat for her for rear-facing longer. And I think my older 2 would have a fit that she has 2 cupholders and they have none. (not an actual reason to not buy one) Sonata pattern is cute IRL. It's brown, not gray, but is much cooler with the infant insert in it. It's all brown in the middle without it.
