Australian tethering??

So I put a britax rearfacing in the center seat. It doesn't touch either of the front seats so I was wondering if perhaps I could australian tether rather than swedish. The tether anchor for that seat is in the ceiling. Thinking about the physics of a crash, I guess I am concerned about downward rotation more than rebound in the case of the center seat. Thoughts? Is this even allowed by britax?

It's allowed. It's generally considered a PITA to get the child in and out, but it's perfectly fine if the tether will reach all the way to the ceiling.

When we had our old seat tethered Australian style I used to loosen it off before taking ds out, that way the tether wasn't in the way. The when I put him back in I would check the seat install and tighten the tether :)
