#11 says this...

"There are some things you should never buy from us: children's car seats, for instance. For all you know, that car seat's alrady survived a crash or fallen off the roof of the minivan two or three dozen times."

I would have loved for them to mention expiry as well but, hey, I'll take what I can get!

I read that and meant to post it here a few weeks ago but I forgot. I thought it was great, now we just need to get it to all the thrift shops and get them to understand the same point.

Our thrift shops (I believe all, but can say this for sure about Salvation Army) Do not sell car seats. My sister worked at Sal. Army 2-3 years ago. No matter how nice the seat looked, they had to destroy it right then. I am guessing it is the same for our other 2 thrift stores because I never see car seats in them. Our only consignment shop, which sadly closed in Feb., did sell used car seats. She would check online to make sure there was not a recall. But, she didn't ask about the history of the seat. Kinda scary!
