Safety 1st 3 phase seat?

My Big Lots does not have the Uptowns. I can not order it online. I need a seat for my nephew to use in a 15 passenger van. Nephew is nearly 2, 24 lbs and FFing by parent request. He has a shorter torso and stockier build than my ds and has just moved up to the third harness height of his RA FFing. He is only slightly over the 2nd slots. My Big Lots did have several of the safety 1st 3phase seats today. I could not figure out exactly how to raise the head rest, it has odd knobby pieces in the back rather than the metal piece I am familiar with on most Dorel seats.
Has anyone used this seat? Can I get a review? He has a shorter torso similar to my dd who did make it to 40lbs in a RA. I just need a seat to fill a niche. In 2 years, dd will go into a booster, then I will have 3 MAs, a nauti, and another HWH seat to pass down plus what ever else I buy.
Thanks
Amanda

Do you have a Sears or Kmart near you? If so I'd check for the Avenue. The Uptown was discontinued a while ago and it became the Avenue. Otherwise if you don't need it this second the Avenue can be bought online.

I'm not positive about the seat. It's been a long time since I played with one. But they all have lower slots than the Avenue/Uptown, so they'll be outgrown much sooner.

While i like the dorel seats with the metal adjusters, those cheapy ones that adjust by pulling and tugging the headrest up are a giant pain, have really low slots, and they are really weird-fitting, because that awful headrest thing you have to tug up really sticks out and pushes the kids head forward, causing serious head slump issues.
The avenue really would be a muich better value.
