Im just curious if anyone maybe knows or has heard something about SK raising the RF weight on the R80? Im just curious and I know a while back someone had mentioned that Russ or someone had said something about the possibility. Anyone heard anything new? Ill happily take speculation or guessing too!

Russ has been saying this for quite a while now. But as of now, there is no word that SK is raising the rf limit to 40lbs. Graco MyRide and a new seat by Safety First are the only ones currently that rf to 40lbs.

All radians manufactured 09/08 and later should have a 35 lb rear facing limit.

Anything higher to compete with the new 40 lb rf limits is purely speculative (or maybe more like wishful thinking ;)). Russ has been promising that since before I joined this board two years ago.

I emailed SKJP customer service a few weeks ago and they (not Russ) said they DO plan to test the RN to a higher RF weight limit this summer, but since testing hadn't even started yet they would not speculate on any kind of release date.

Russ said that last summer too. It really doesn't mean anything.

A couple of weeks ago, I emailed customer service on another issue, and while I was at it asked about testing to 40. The response I got (which happened to be from Russ) was something to the effect of "I can't say whether we might be planning to do it, but if we were, I might be keeping a list of those who are interested in the results." I thought it was an interesting departure from his usual "yes, we're working on it." I'm just not sure what that departure means. :p
