parkway headrest falling

We were fitting carseats in DadBoss' car tonight. J asked me to move his PW headrest up, so I did. And it fell back down. So I moved it up, and back down it went. Now it freely slides up and down :( I think we've had the seats..... since late fall/early winter. So, deffinetly less than a year. I'll be calling Britax on Monday. Any idea what they'll do? Maybe offer a refund?

What is it with me and boosters???? I had the same problem with my TB.

I had that problem with my Bodyguard once. The mechanism that pulls in to let go of the desired position was gunked up and got stuck. I cleaned it really well with a damp stiff toothbrush and it was fine.

what was it gunked up with? THis seat is in dad's car, which isn't often used by the kids (and J uses it even less than A does). Not like it;d have food in there.

Dust and lint that had drifted in. You can get a lot of crud coming in through the vents and open windows.

This happens to, like, everyone. Darren figured it out, the little tabs just aren't naturally going into the slots far enough, you have to manually make sure they go into the slots fully so the headrest doesn't fall down. Luvbug03 had a thread about it last monthish, Parkway headrest getting stuck, I think was the title. They offered her a discount on the new PW, IIRC, or the FR, but since it's beyond warranty I don't think they are obligated to do anything, so it's good to know it's fixable.

I just had this issue too. There is a little spring at the bottom that pushes the handle at the top into place all the way and mine was sticking. I took a barely damp rag and wiped it down and now it's fine again.
