unrestrained deaths

I don't know the details, but I was watching the news and they were talking about how 15 people died this holiday weekend on VA highways. Two of these deaths were unrestrained 11 month olds. No carseats. What are people thinking?

So sad....

An interesting bit of info I came across recently is that some people truly believe nothing bad can happen to them. That is why they refuse to evacuate in the face of imminent disaster (like a volcano about to erupt). No amount of evidence can convince them otherwise. I guess it's like me not being convinced I will float. Oh sure, I can see that theoretically I should be able to, but deep down I'm sure I won't; thus years of useless swimming lessons down the drain.

This was kind of a blow to my thinking on child restraints. I used to think that if parents were educated they would make good decisions. But I guess that isn't always enough.
