The my ride is totally messing up Elizabeth's hair....

She keeps getting a horrible rat's nest tangle on the back of her head, it doesn't happen every time but pretty often. You can see in my siggy she has slightly curly hair. She has never had this problem with any other seat she has been in, the marathon, true fit, or radian. Today I took off the toddler pillow to see if that was the problem and her hair was fine but like I said it doesn't happen every time.

Anyone else have this problem? Is the middle of the sonata textured? I am hoping it will be better. Obviously I'm not going to turn her forward facing because of messed up hair! I just might need to keep some detangeler in the van. Pony tails also don't help. It also might be better after it is trimmed.

What cover do you have? We have Spiral and don't have that problem. But our baby does have that problem in her Mariposa MA. I would think the bigger one with more hair would have the problem, but baby does have quite a bit of hair so who knows.

I have the spiral but don't have a mariposa cover for the MA, I have plush ones.

I will try the dryer sheet.

Thanks!

you're lucky. sofi has that with all carseats. but she also has much curlier hair than elizabeth. i keep it in pigtails and that works for us.

That happened really bad with Taryn in the supercool radian. To a lesser extent in the granite. It's not a problem now that she's turned around, but not something I'd turn for, either.

My son is african american, so he gets dreadlocks in his afro from sleeping in carseats, strollers, his bed, you name it. If you spray a little detangler on her hair and use a pick you should be able to work out the rats nests as they occur.

Ahhh, now I know why Allison has the problem and Libby doesn't! Alli's hair is pretty curly, Libby has had a few curls at the ends at times, but nothing like Alli's! I know, no help to the OP, but at least I have mine figured out!

It's prolly just static. Rub a dryer sheet on the cover and it should fix it.

I get that "rat nest" problem for my hair in DH's car. I'm going to try the dryer sheet on the next long car ride. I dont like to use detangler if possible.

2BunniesMommy,

I got curly hair too. DS1 and DS2 have curly ends so I cut them off to prevent the tangled hair.

I thought I'd update that it seems fine now that I took off the pillow. I'll try adding the pillow back again after I cut her hair.
