harness adjust (rf) in true fit models

So I keep reading that the newer tf model has an improved harness adjuster that is much easier to use for rfing. However, I can't find any pics or demos, and I'm just not sure what the actual difference is. Could someone please explain? We are planning on using our new seat for rfing for a LONG time, so a feature that is difficult to use rfing would be a deal breaker for us. Thanks.

Re: harness adjust (rf) in true fit models

The True Fit Premier has an anti-rebound bar with a cut-out that makes the harness adjuster accessible where it would normally be smooshed into the seat back. That said, we are and plan to use the original TF for a long time RF and that issues isn't a deal breaker for us. It's difficult to get to, but I can when I need to, and since it has a continusous loop harness (1 strap running shoulder, down to the hip and under the bum, and up to the other shoulder) I can get slack in 1 side, get arm 1 in, pull slack in other side, get arm 2 in, even up and buckle. It's really easy and actually ensures that others driving my boy (dad, grandparents, babysitters, etc) get the harness tight enough.

In the pics I've seen of the new TF, it doesn't seem any higher up on the seat. And that leveler is there, which is probably a visual that make it seem like that.
But, is it that with the ARB and cutout, the seat itself is father away from the vehicle seat back, making it easier to access that way, rather than further up on the seat?

Yes. I played with one last weekend, and there's definitely more room to get your hand in because of the ARB and the cutout, since it's not as squished against your car's seatback.

That said, I also find the continuous loop to be handy for getting other people to keep the harness tight enough...we don't have a TF (yet), but we do have a Scenera as a travel/backup seat, and it has a continuous loop harness. Once I got used to it, I really liked that style of harness.

I just played with an ARB model Saturday and had less room than with the older model. My finger was smashed between the adjuster and the ARB.

Interesting. I wonder how it will fit in our 06 Odyssey...I am really torn between the two models (and still toying with the idea of the RA50)

Also, and this is slightly off-topic, since some of you seem very knowledgeable about this seat, I also read that the new model has recline options. Does the old one not? What does this mean, practically speaking? (I think I may have been misunderstanding the purpose of a recline feature all these years. I thought it was designed to allow you to pick a comfortable angle for your child to sit with the option of changing that angle for traveling needs, but having read various posts and reviews, I am seeing it plays into getting the correct angle for a proper install. Could someone please explain?)
