A high end baby store recently opened up in The Big City an hour from here, it's the only store in the state that carries Recaro seats, so I was finally able to try ds and dd in them.
The Vivo has less height growing room than the Monterey for dd, the seat depth is also incredibly shallow, I mean I've seen pictures, but even ds's knee was about an inch over the edge of the seat - THAT shallow.
Ds HATED the Signo, but the extra padding was in it, and there were tags everywhere so I don't think the hate was genuine, just "what the heck is all of this stuff" kinda reaction. Ds had about an inch to grow in it. For comparison he has about 4 inches in the Frontier and 3 inches in the Radian XT. I didn't try him in the Como, it looked very narrow in the shoulders and he had just freaked out in the Signo.
I tried ds in a Cocorro, I got to play with one at my state's Tech Update, but this was the first time I got to put a child in one! Ds had about 1/4 inch until he was even with the top slots, and his head was about 2 inches above the shell, so at 38.5 pounds, he still fits in this 40 pound seat - VERY impressive! For what it's worth, the top slots fit him IDENTICALLY to the Scenera, but the Scenera has a taller shell. Ds loved it.
I talked to the manager about some seats they didn't have, that I thought would be a good addition, namely Sunshine Kids seats and Clek seats, along with the MyRide. They already planned to get the True Fit ARB, but didn't currently have any True Fits in stock.
My kids had a blast there, and the employees were all kid gear junkies like so many of us that post here, so it was fun.
