Safeseat1 or Comfortsport?

Which will last longer rear facing? I have a friend who has both. At this point her 9 mo old is still using the SS1 and has about 1 1/2 inches (IIRC) of growing room.

She has the comfortsport from her 3 y/o (which was outgrown at age 2 of course, no she is not using it-it is just waiting for him.) It has been a while since I have seen it, but since they both have the same weight limit, I was wondering if the SS1 might actually be taller? But the CS can be installed more upright, so that could give him more space?

I wish I could convince her to get a longer last conv. but that is not happening, so just want to be able to help her keep him rearfacing as long as possible.

She turned 3y/o right at one year. I do have her on board with ERF now, the only problem now is she is stuck with the seats she has. She was asking me about the MR, since I just got one, so maybe when he gets close to the 30lbs, she will be considering it. Sorry, got a bit rambling there.

It depends on the CS. I know that Zoe outgret her RA and still fit RF in the CS for a while after that. I think that the general word is that there are some CS that are bigger.

Exactly! Meredith just outgrew her ComfortSport rear-facing when she hit the 30lbs rf limit at 37 mths.

Huh? Comfortsports come in different sizes? That is weird...so wonder if she has a big one or a small one....

One thing that affects how long they last I think is how much padding they have in the seat. There is a fancier version of the CS with "Gracopedic" foam in it and the extra padding means the time you have before you reach the top slots is less.
