What to look for?

First, I'd like to thank everyone here for all of their help. After some research, I'm really interested in purchasing a Radian. Specifically the new Raidan80. I like that it folds down for airport travel, I love that it's certified to be used in a plane. I like that it can fit 3 across.
Anyway, I'm going to try one out this weekend, but I don't really know what to look for in a "fit" can you tell me what I should be looking for?

All the Radians fold. I would look at the 65 or the XT instead. They all have the same harness height.

The XT has wings. The 65 is just like the 80, but with different fabric and no infant inserts.

The 65 is cheaper. Almost every child will outgrow the 65 and the 80 at the same time-- by height, not weight, usually around 55-60 lbs. (some closer to 65, exceptionally tall and skinny kids even before 55.) Only the shortest-torsoed, heaviest kids are going to make it past 65 lbs. in any of the Radians, so there's usually no point in paying extra for the 80.

The XT has headwings for extra side impact protection.

Thanks! I really appreciate your time. The XT does look good. Unfortunately they don't carry it at BRU, so I can't test it out!

The xt, 65, and 80 will all install the same. So if you want to try it out in your car, try out whatever is in store. And if you want a different model, then go order online.

You just want to make sure you can get it installed with less than 1" of movement at the belt path and that your child fits in it ok.

If you lived close, you could try out mine!
I'm only a little to the north!

OK that makes me feel better. I wish I didn't have to wait for shipping though. I'm so nervous! I really really hate the carseat I have now. The only model BRU carries is the 80.

The 80 has no headwings. It has a head pillow that comes with it. The XT is the only one that has headwings.

If you install the 80 and you can get it you can go online and buy the 65 without concern. It's the same shell (different steel inside).

Are you far from Seattle? I have a Radian 65. Merry Go Round in Bellevue has the XT.
