recommendation for Forrester & Tacoma double cab

my nice neighbour is expecting their firstborn around aug/sep

the lady drives the forester and the guy drives the tacoma double cab

the lady is sometimes out of town due to her work.

so basically I need recommendations for primary seats for both vehicles as my neighbour is very likely to ask us soon.

both neighbour and his wife are very tall and stocky. his sister's kids were born big. not sure if infant car seat with 2 bases would be economical or better to get 2 good convertibles.

I would get a graco safeseat 1 or a snugride32 because those accommodate even large babies for a year. The base is really easy to move from car to car, but I found installing without the base to be perfectly convenient as well. The bases are pretty expensive so they could try with one and then either buy a second or choose a convertible that fits their baby well. Some people start with convertibles but I really like having the option of bringing the carrier into restaurants and such when baby is sleeping. Oh and I am sure the safeseat fits into a forester because my neighbors have one. I think it would fit the center of the truck too.

We have a 06 tacoma double cab. I have fit a graco snugride with base outboard and an EFTA RF with enough room for DH to drive comfortably. DH is only 5'10, and sits pretty upright. Currently, I easily fit DD's Radian RF passenger and DS's Marathon RF driver side in the back. the tacoma has only outboard lower latch anchors, and no borrowing, but 3 top tethers behind the seat back. The seat is wide enough to put a nautilus fully on as well.

I have only installed with latch, and have not needed to use the center so no experience with the seatbelt installs.

its for their firstborn so as long as those car seats are ok with latch, they can figure out the seat belts install much later :)

my neighbour is about 6ft and is more of body length than legs :)

thanks
