Looking to replace seats after the crash

So now that we are safe from our accident, I need to replace the seats. I don't know what we will be driving as of yet (minivan or larger SUV), but we came out of a 2008 Toyota Sienna.

1. 23 lb 30" 2 year old was RF in a Evenflo Triumph Advance. I liked it, but was looking for something different in the same price range. I like the nobs to tighten her in but am wondering how difficult it is to use the pull strap when she is RF.

2. 14 lb 25" 7 mth old was RF in a Graco Snugride. I hate to see this one go since it matches my stroller, but I may as well get a convertible now.

I am interested in girly covers and to spend less than $200 each if possible. I paid $180 for the Triumph.

I picked up the Evenflo Symphony's last night ($155 ea), but discovered that these won't last as long as I thought with the 5-pt harness.

Any ideas will be helpful. TIA

How about two First Years True Fits in the Monet print? RFs to 35lbs, FFs to 65lbs, retail price est $180.

If the accident was not your fault, the at-fault driver's insurance should be giving you a check or re-imbursing you for the cost of new car seats however.

The insurance company will only cover the cost to replace exactly what we had. So I will be covering any cost above that. That being said, maybe this would be my chance to get Britax seats...

I will check out the True Fit. Thanks for the info!

What is your experience with buying seats off Amazon? Are the DOM still pretty recent? I would hate to buy one with an old date and then not be able to return it.

If you like the symphony you could always keep one of them. It has a good tall harness height for a 40lb weight limit seat, and your kiddo's aren't heavy kids, so there's a good chance it will last until age 5 or so at which point you may be ready to consider a booster anyways. Just a thought anyways. The Symphony gets a bit of a bad rep because of the 40lb weight limit, but for light weight kids the Britax convertibles are often outgrown around 40lbs anyways...

That being said, the True Fit is a really nice seat. If you're used to the knobs though, it will take some getting used to because the harness fit and adjustment is almost a night and day difference... the Evenflo harness height adjustment where it's always even with the shoulders is a bit spoiling and it's hard to get used to individual slot heights again after having had a kid in one. You're going to find that with any seat that has individual harness slots though. ;)

I also recommend the Monet patterned True Fit. :) I used to have a Triumph Advance and now have a True Fit... it did take some getting used to, but now I really do like the True Fit.

An added bonus is that it has the tallest shell of any convertible seat on the market, so it will last longest by height rear-facing. Your kids seem to be on the light side (like my DD), so having a nice tall shell is ideal if you want to continue rear-facing as long as possible (which I already know you do).

I just looked at the Britax Boulevards for the continuous height adjustment. (I know way out of the price I said above). Any info for these?

With regards to your infant seat, you could take the cover off and hang onto it. That way if you have another baby or sell the stroller, you will have the infant seat cover to match and you can put it on a new seat.
