Hyundai Santa Fe

OK, I'm really leaning towards getting a Pilot, but I was talking to my stepmom who works for the shipping company Hyundai uses here in the US. She said that anyone in her family can get a huge discount on any Hyundai vehicle.

I really know nothing about this brand, but I figure since it seems people like to hit me and total my vehicles every couple of years, maybe I should get something that's less expensive but still pretty safe.

So, I checked out Hyundai's webpage and saw the Santa Fe. It looks like it could be a decent smaller SUV that comes standard with alot of safety features. I saw on the www.informedforlife.org website that it was higher than the Pilot's score of 67, but with a score of 74, the Santa Fe was well below the danger zone of 100 (this is for 2007 model year vehicles).

Does anyone know anything or own this vehicle? I think I may go and test drive one today as there is a Hyundai dealership about 15 minutes from my house.

In terms of safety, both are very good choices.

As for the discount, you might want to see what it actually is, first. Many of the "Big 3" friends and family discounts are decent, but really no better than what yoou would pay with some research and a little haggling. Hyndai's program may be much better, but you may be disappointed, too.

Thanks! If I get a Santa Fe, it would only have one MA installed in it. I can't have any more kids, so I'll never have to worry about fitting two carseats right next to each other, much less three across.
